Protien Shake Help
Hi there. I am looking for ideas on ready made protien shakes? I have done several of the powder shakes and all they did was froth up and taste like chalk. So I am wondering if there are a few ready made good ones out there. The few that I looked at were more like enrgy drinks that were high in sugar.
Thanks!
Thanks!
Good Morning honey. I buy the Whey powder from Wal*Mart and it works great! I add it to my coffee every morning (When it cools off). I also will now and then add some in the blender with some frozen fruit and make protein smoothies. I love taking the banana whey powder and mixing it with fruit and water in the blender and a tad of Splenda too. I sent out some recipes a month or so ago for shakes so let me see if I can find it and I will resend it. ;o)
I had the same issues, and what saved my sanity was the RTD (ready to drink) EAS Advant Edge Low Carb drinks. They come packaged in silver - a 4 pack is $4.97 at Walmart. I like the French Vanilla, and use that as a creamer in my chai tea and my coffee. I also like the Rich, Dark Chocolate and use that in my coffee to give it a mocha-like flavor. I'm not sure of the nutritional content at this unGodly hour, but they DO have what we need.
Also, I really like the Pure Protein shakes. Again, I do the same thing with all of the flavors I've tried - Frosty Chocolate, Creamy Vanilla and my fave, Cookies and Cream. Generally, I find these at Target - $6.99 for a 4 pack.
I couldn't stand the foam, the grit, the SMELL of most powders. A lot of people like the Body Fortress powder, which is available at Walmart, too.
HTH,
Tia
